FANTASY'S DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE

We have attached the distribution schedule.

The Mas Camp will be closed for costume transactions from Friday 21^st February in order to facilitate Costume Distribution at the Chagaraumas Convention Centre.

It's time to show the world what we are famous for! It's time for VIBES! This year, YUMA and friends are proud to bring something extra to your carnival experience - The SOCADROME

A play on Brazil's Sambadrome, the SOCADROME will be filled with the colorful and electric atmosphere of our masqueraders, costumes, music and media. We aim to bring you at least one free moving, stress-free, MEGA stage experience - the SOCADROME stage!   

The innovation of the SOCADROME seeks to offer you a stage experience where you can revel and ramajay without a five hour wait to cross the stage. No more wondering IF you will cross a stage to be seen by friends, family and media. For 2014, YUMA will be the first to cross this threshold and give you this CIRQUETIFIED stage experience - complete with everything you have on the road.

We are seeking to ensure "mas on the move" as we believe that for too long masqueraders have had to endure hours of waiting outside the QPS to have a mere few minutes on stage. Further, the stipulation that no music can be played in front of Port-of-Spain General Hospital, while understandable, is an absolute buzz-kill for the road. The new venue and concept means: NO long wait ! No more stress! Only VIBES! VIBES! And MORE YUMA VIBES!

The time has come for carnival to evolve and you will be a part of this evolution. Come join us as we make new memories for C2K14.

Please note that 50% of additions must be paid upon registering as well.

YUMA'S WEBSITE IS UP, WITH COSTUMES!!!

What ever issues YUMA had in the past, they're working double time to have it cleaned all up because although there is NO live feed, they've done something for their overseas masqueraders.  As the band launch is going on right now, their website is up for us to view costumes.  The website is not open for registrations or anything but they're allowing we overseas masqueraders who can not see the costumes in person at the launch OR via live stream to see SOMETHING until pictures begin to surface online. Customer service at it's best in my opinion..

I don't see any section that I 'hate' but there were a few that stood out to me and those were Mystere (Rainbow section), Nouba (Playful, colorful and a nice contrast of the black and white stripes against the colors), Totem and Alegria - (Has a midnight waterfall kind of finish).  I only wish I could have been in Trinidad to see them up close and personal.  For your viewing pleasure click HERE to see YUMA's 2014 presentation....CirQue

FANTASY REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Fantasy Carnival 2014 - Secrets of the Deep is here!

After a successful band launch on Saturday night, we are now gearing up for registration.

For those of you who missed the update, we have a new lunch rest area. Can you guess where from the picture?

We will also be introducing our 1st Lap on Carnival Monday:

Registration for 2014 will begin on Tuesday 30th, July and will be held at our mas camp, located at #3 Alfredo Street, Woodbrook. For the month of August our opening hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday - 4:30pm to 7:00pm
Saturday - 1:00pm to 4:00pm
We are closed on public holidays.

All masqueraders visiting the mas camp to register must be in possession of a registration invitation. These are available from all Fantasy committee members.

Down payments on costumes are TTD$2,000.00 for backline and male costumes, TTD$3,500.00 for frontline. Costume prices will be available at the mas camp during registration. Please remember that we accept CASH and LINX ONLY, payment by credit card or personal cheque is not available.

I read some good and bad from the email.  I am in no way going to touch the exclusiveness of Fantasy Mas. What I WILL say concerning that is I do NOT give Fantasy wrong. They are targeting a select few and they have every right to do so.  They have said that from DAY ONE! The repetitive moans and complaints are old and have gotten nothing changed for the moaners and complainers.  My advice is to decide on playing mas in another band, prepare to beg, borrow or steal an invitation, wait for a resale from Fine Ah Band or get friendly with the right people!!! Those options have been the ONLY options from this bands INCEPTION so stop acting like it's new and please, GET OVER IT!

THE GOOD:

• A new lunch spot has been organized.  *good job
• Registration will be up in less than a week of the launch. *impressive

THE BAD:

• Invitation only registration/entry has not been changed as promised to Fantasy masqueraders
• Linx and cash are the only forms of payment *not convenient for overseas masqueraders
• No online registration, in house only *not convenient for overseas masqueraders
• Prices aren't listed for their invited *most times price is the deciding factor in the costume deliberations

Hopefully, this email was rushed.  After all, their band only launched on Saturday and this email followed Sunday night/Monday morning. There are many questions and lots that need to be explained.
