EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ENDS TODAY!!!

Registration for the walk is presently $20 per person, that however will not be the price tomorrow. The numbers do not raise dramatically but why waste that money on registration when we can use those same funds to raise awareness or possibly find a cure?

After doing this for a number of years, we have decided to take a bigger part in the event.  For all those who will be walking or running please register HERE and for those interested in making any additional donations please contact us deecarnivalbaby@gmail.com or click HERE.  In the email, please add "BREAST CANCER WALK" in the subject line.  DCARNIVALBABY along with iChunes Radio Family will be helping D'LIMERS reach their fundraising goal.  Join us as we try to kick Cancer in the butt!

If you've missed the original blog concerning this walk and all the fun you'd be missing out on, please click HERE.  This is something that I am extremely passionate about so please, should you have any questions at all contact me directly at (954) 687-3215, email deecarnivalbaby@gmail.com or message me on Facebook .  Bless.

DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION ENDS ON THE 30TH!

It's that time of the year again!!!  You may have noticed that the 2015 registration is a little early. The round up is real! With the overwhelming response to #DLIMERS' team in the Susan B Komen Race For The Cure over the past years, they had to start not a little early but A LOT.  This years walk will be held on October 15 at Bayfront Park.  I made the decision to walk for the very first time in 2011 and I've been walking ever since.  For those of you who have never done the walk with D'Limers, I will give you a little insight.

When you register, you receive an official teeshirt from Komen.   You are given a choice of having it delivered to your home (at an additional fee) or you can pick them up at a disclosed location closer to your home at or about a week before the walk.  Once the registration is complete, you then send an email to rsvp@hamiltonmillerlaw.com with your registered names and sizes.  This email guarantees your D'Limers teeshirt.
(my son with a general Komen tee covered in colored powder from D'Limers)
The plain white tees with the Susan B Komen Miami logo are what's given at the disclosed locations but when you get to the D'Limers booth the morning of the walk, you are given colorful and more stylish tees with the D'Limers logo on it.  The color changes annually but I'll keep you informed so you can organize your headpieces and matching attire.  Check below.

You'd have to be prepared to wake up before dawn.  Anywhere between 6:30 and 7:00 is a great time to get to Bayfront Park. At that hour there is little to no traffic, you have ample choices for parking, *the parking lots have an additional fee, you get to take your time and find the D'LIMERS booth.  Once you arrive, if you haven't collected your team D'Limers teeshirt, now would be the time to do it.  It would also give you enough time to 'cut it up' to your liking.  After enough people are in attendance, a prayer is done, there is a light buffet style breakfast and then it'll be time to walk.

Once you're walking with D'LIMERS the vibes are always nice.  Caribbean people really know how to turn a tough situation into an enjoyable one.  We walk with national flags, carnival headpieces from any carnival of your choosing, colored powder being thrown like a jouvert and I remember one time Giselle "The Wassi One" came out with a boom box and played soca music as we walked. Level pump!!!  When the walk is complete, we gather at the tent to have lunch and enjoy the sounds of a live deejay (which is usually Barry Hype).

In between the tasty food and drinking (non alcoholic beverages cause I know you were wondering), the reggae and soca music pumps loud and everyone begins to dance and enjoy themselves. There are some short but sweet speeches and acknowledgments for the many that attend who are survivors.
Registration is now open for Team ‪#‎DLIMERS2015‬ at Annual Komen Race for the Cure Saturday October 17 at D'Limers Team Page. From now until June 30, you can register for the DISCOUNTED rate of $20.00 - all you have to do is click the D'Limers Team Page and join our Team ‪#‎DLIMERS‬. Team Sponsor partner opportunities are available.  For more information on that you can email rsvp@hamiltonmillerlaw.com. Don't forget, this is the same email address to send your registered names and sizes to get your D'Limers tee. Hope to see you there!

We have this tropical storm turned hurricane Irene. She's a beast! She ripped apart HAITI and The Bahamas.  She has all intentions of making life hell for the Northern states of the East coast and I just pray that God is with them, with their lack of experience dealing with hurricanes and all their tall buildings, good Lord.  The news is saying a category 1 hurricane would flood the subway system in New York and a caergory 2 would put JFK airport under 5 feet of water. I just pray they're prepared.

A plan gone wrong would have to be the SOE (State Of Emergency) going on in Trinidad and Tobago.  The curfew started in just some 'hot spots'. The 'hot spots' were where they considered most of the crimes in the country were being reported and committed. That didn't make much sense to me because if I were a 'bandit' I would just leave the 'hot spot' area and go to another that ISN'T under curfew during the normal hours and stay there to do whatever it is I want to do whether legal or not.  The freedom in itself would be enough for me.  So, its either you're locking down the country or your not. So, like the common sense God's came to Kamla and she decided to lock down EVERYBODY! I really hope this lock down fixes the problems in the country and the majority conforms for a greater good rather than get more vex and just kill off Kamla.

On a lighter note, yesterday was the pre-registration for ISLANDpeople Mas. YES, I registered within the band and it was straight! I was one of the first TO register, so I guess they were still making additions to the site while I was on because the sizing chart wasn't there when I registered my 6. When I went back later on in the day (just to macco the site some more), low and behold, there was their sizing chart.  I am very well aware of MY sizes but had to compare the sizes I chose for those I registered on the chart and I realized I had to make changes ASAP! Between the new BBM customer service pin, email address and telephone number provided.  I was going to try all 3 cause I panic, I panic once things are not all aligned the way I see fit. I called first, then sent a BBM and didn't get a chance to email because my question was answered via telephone.  I was told that I couldn't change the sizes at that time because the computers were already down for the day and if I would 'be so kind' as to leave my name and number, she'd personally give me a call back this morning.   I wouldn't say it was bright and early, but early enough for me.  At 9:22am Island People Mas called me back, fixed my problem, gave me the assurance I needed and didn't try rushing me off the phone because after all, it was an overseas call.  I timed it in my phone to be a 32 minute 36 second phonecall.

Preregistration for the newbies begins today at 12pm kudos to IP! I extra ready for the road come 2012!
