Last week was pressure! 

And here he is doing it again....

With Private Ryan dropping his set Battalion Verse tickets, Soca Baby tickets were sold out in a matter of minutes but due to the high demand, the team has decided to do a second sailing. This sailing is set to begin boarding at 5pm and sail at 6.  My understanding is that DJ Private Ryan will be on Boat 2 but it is unclear whether the other DJ cast on boat 1 will make that second run.

I suggest keeping your eyes glued to all his socials if this boat ride is an option for you. For the ones who don't know, Soca Baby is a cooler boat ride that takes you on a soca musical journey from the early 80's to present.  

Out of the two, I believe that this will be the better flex considering the sun won't be as unforgiving as  it's not high noon and it would create some beautiful photo opportunities while setting at sea.

SOCA BRAINWASH REVIEW

My 2^nd SBW in Trinidad and it was even better than the first time.  This fete just keeps getting better to me…the food is endless, the drinks are endless, games, music, vibes….no complaints anywhere.  A lot of ppl complained about the time being too early, but I find that it always seems to start late.  After AM Bush and waiting at YUMA mas camp on Saturday afternoon for about 2-3 hours, I got to SBW and still had PLENTY of time to turn up. Love this fete, I only hope he comes with the all-inclusive in Miami this year and not that drink chit foolishness like 2015.  Overall, I give Brainwash a 9/10…everyone just seems so happy there lol.

THE AFTERMATH OF LEO, THE EVENT

The review of this event has been long overdue but here it goes...

Getting into the event was  a breeze, there was a short line, no fuss or fight.  Everything went smoothly. The crowd was now forming and excitement was in the air.  I mean, where else can you see or hear Private Ryan for $10? (if you purchased an early-bird ticket).  Surprisingly, couple people asked if Private Ryan had played yet which led me to believe that these people were new to Leo as Private Ryan is carded annually for this event.  That to me was a good thing because that meant that new people and fresh faces are coming out to events. 

Two bands that were supposed to display costumes that night, Generation X and Wassi Ones. I was informed that Generation X cancelled because they were pretty much sold out (as their band launched pretty early) which left Wassi Ones alone to display costumes.  Giselle "The Wassi One" could not make the event, so they got the shyest person in the whole party to announce the models coming on to the stage..... Me. The Wassi Ones models modeled sections Bright Africa, Dragon, Energy, The Fancy Indian, Jab Molassie and The Pierrot Grenade. DJ Dr. Esan did an excellent job playing an assortment of music for each model to dance to  as there was no actual plan.  The highlight of the show was when DJ Esan played Big Red's "No Behaviour" (better known as When We Touch Down) for the model modeling Bright Africa.  The energy that she came on the stage with combined with that chune literally 'shell dong' the place as she excited the crowd with her 'behavior'.

Admittedly, I didn't pay attention to the 'performances' of the deejays present or who actually played only because I was busy getting ready to announce the models.  The job was given to me while at the party. What I did notice between the hustle and bustle was that the crowd wasn't really moving.  Everyone was basically standing around, drinking and enjoying each others company.  Not bored but dancing conservatively.  It seemed as if everyone was waiting for either the live costume display or Private Ryan to play music.

When the intro for Private Ryan played, the crowd started to cheer and the atmosphere was noticeably different.  The music selection was different, it wasn't what everyone is used to hearing in South Florida.  It was a welcomed change of pace that the crowd noticed and responded to well.

Of what I did experience, I actually loved.  The bartenders moved quickly so the drinks kept coming (I needed the drinks to flow to work up the nerve to get on that stage).  Although I didn't take advantage of it, there were hookahs available.  There were no mix ups with bottle service.  It was incident free - everyone handled their liquor appropriately and there were no fights.  The Sweet Hand Kathy team saved my life with their food afterward.  (We won't discuss how they gladly served Private Ryan before me knowing that he purposely cut directly in front of me in the line) lol.  It's a cool scene, our conversation has lead to an upcoming blog which will be coming soon!  My only complaint with Leo 2015 is a personal pet peeve.  If there is a dress code, patrons should follow it.  Who can appreciate a glow party with only half the dance wearing white?  This has nothing to do with Infamous Empire but directed to patrons.  It was a red and white party, what happened?

All in all, Leo is a party dedicated to all the Leo's of the zodiac and most importantly to celebrate the birthday of Anthony of Infamous Empire.

So again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANTHONY!!!  Now, would I attend this party again?  Absolutely!  Next year, *once God spare life, there will be another year of life to be blessed with.  I'd like to however get the full experience of Leo next year, without work and actually enjoy myself with friends. I may not have had as good a time that I would have wanted (due to me having to work/fill in) but I couldn't stop hearing about the good time that each of my friends had with my husband while I was missing in action.  Even IF it was an event I didn't care to attend again, they've made it clear that they'd be heading there with or without me for Leo 2016.

SOCA BRAINWASH MIAMI: BIENVENIDO A MIAMI

There are many changes to mention with this event but we'll wait til the ticket sales have started to mention them.  

It's hard for me to remain upset with my DJ crush for doing this as his talent surpass his wrong doings. Do any of you see the problem with this event?  The event starts at 2pm and ends at 8pm.   I TOTALLY get it. Scorch is after Soca Brainwash and DJ Private Ryan is most likely carded for both BUT what about the die hard Private Ryan followers who are also die hard jouvert partakers??  

The Miami Carnival jouvert is scheduled from 6am until 2pm and the plan for many was to revel for each minute of the allotted time.  Seeing as every request, suggestion and plea with the man himself were all ignored, I have no other choice but to change my jouvert plans as missing this event is NOT an option and I will have to leave the jouvert at EXACTLY 2pm!  Talking about DJ Private Ryan's events, that leads me to the last event in Miami "Leo".  That review will be up tomorrow.

Ticket information, location and pricing will be made public soon.  Just remember to have your money on hand when the website becomes active.  *Last time I gave a warning was for Euphoria Mas' band launch. Not everyone got their money up and were quite upset, complaining and reportedly crying at the speed the band was sold out in.  Don't be left out in the cold.

I don't know about you but this fete has proven to me to be the ULTIMATE MUST GO for any carnival season and I thank the carnival Gods for making this Brainwash ultimate fete happen right here in Miami for our Miami carnival! The party will be held on the 10th of October and if you've been following/stalking the last few venue's of Private Ryan here in the Miami area you can pretty much guess where it will be held.  Prepare to drive my Broward county people.

Don't say you haven't been warned as these tickets WILL sell out!  Again, the date will be October 10th I expect the venue will be somewhere in Kendall and the approximate cost to start from $125 for early bird tickets.  But that's just going off previous events. Nothing has been set in stone.  Keep a look out on his Facebook or Twitter pages.  Stay in the know or stay in the cold.

MY CARNIVAL MEMORIES CAN CONTINUE!

I'M IN THE CARNIVAL MOOD

DJ Private Ryan tweeted yesterday that he'd be dropping a CD today. I'm waiting patiently and I'm checking his podcast like crazy.  His podcast can be found to the right side of this blog under 'My Favorite Links' or click HERE!  It's in your best interest to link it and if its not uploaded REFRESH!

Although it is not being reflected on their website ISLANDpeople Mas has announced yesterday that their Azula Male chapter is now sold out along with Element's backline.  I'm amazed because I'm not really a fan of that chapter and I think there are better within the band.  LIKE THE CHAPTER I'M IN! LOL To date, there are many rumors on what Monday wear will be but none of them appear to be true. *winks*

These people are really playing hard ball and are sticking to their guns.  The people say NO ONE will be allowed to take close up shots of their costumes and NO ONE has.  Well, not exactly, no one has  leaked any closeups. Yet. LOL All the secrecy surrounding these closeups anyone know why? They did however give a 2012 teaser that was a closeup................sort of

This is shaping up to be a great carnival indeed overpriced fetes and all. Wait nah, anyone ever hear from SPICE? Just asking *winks.
