NO CARNIVAL NATIONZ

Unfortunately the rumor was true. There will be no Carnival Nationz for Miami Carnival.  Confirmation was in the following email:

WE THE COMMITTEE OF CARNIVAL NATIONZ MIAMI INC REGRETFULLY INFORM YOU, OUR CARNIVAL NATIONZ MIAMI FAMILY, THAT UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE YEAR 2013 THE BAND WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN THE MIAMI-BROWARD ONE CARNIVAL HOST COMMITTEE PARADE OF BANDS.

WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT OVER THE PREVIOUS YEARS. WE LOOK FORWARD FOR YOUR CONTINUED PARTICIPATION WITH US IN 2014 MIAMI-BROWARD ONE CARNIVAL.

At the end of the day...Same great carnival band!!!

No time to waste… carnival just done and everyone is now eyeing Toronto for the next big carnival in the calendar.  CNz is readying itself to fight to make history and win a hat-trick of “Band of the Year” titles. That defence starts on Saturday 20^th April @ Kool Haus when we launch our costumes for our 2013 theme…

It is going to be a bright, colourful and innovative 2013 for CNz… Dream big and start doing some research into what type costume you want to play in and then come to our band launch and choose the section(s) which you simply must have. So the countdown starts from now… Geh ready to dive into 2013 with CNz…

CARNIVAL NATIONZ OR BACCHANAL ON THE BEACH?

This is the second weekend in a row that South Florida will have to choose an event to go to. We have Bacchanal On the Beach that people have known about for a little under a month and then we have Carnival Nationz Band Launch that just announced their launch quite abrupt. At the band launch will have your normal mas jumbies but even I who profess to love off carnival and everything pertaining to it, is finding it a bit hard to make it to the launch. I will work my magic and try making it to both!!!

MIAMI CARNIVAL MAS BANDS

The latest rumor in the Miami Carnival world was that Carnival Nationz Miami was considering cancelling their Empires Band launch this weekend and looks like the rumor is true. This was sent via email AND is posted on their Facebook Page.  Some believe it had EVERYTHING to do with the other band launch scheduled for that night (which would be Euphoria Mas). I'm hoping that THAT is also a rumor because my sources tell me it's rescheduled for some time in August and if the scheduling conflict actually was the cause of the cancellation, they will ALWAYS have that problem.

I just hope that the day in August that they decide upon isn't the same day that Wassi Ones decides to do their launch!!!! *As of now, all we know about Carnival Nationz Miami and Wassi Ones is that they're both scheduled to launch some time in August.

Due to an overwhelming response we have decided to relocate and reschedule our much anticipated launch of Empires. Please stay tuned for information regarding the new date and location via email blasts, our Facebook page – Carnival Nationz Miami – and Twitter. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you when we launch EMPIRES Nationz Miami Style.

TORN BETWEEN LAUNCHES!!!

I understand that the Miami mas bands will parade in full costume on the same day but do we have to launch on the same day as well? If any masquerader had to choose this would be hard. We have Carnival Nationz, Euphoria Mas, Ascension Mas Band and then relax in your own home and watch TRIBE via Internet.  *Rumor has it that if you attend the Ascension Band Launch you get a free ticket to attend Truck Stop (the place where the Euphoria Band Launch will be held). I will look into it and update this entry.

CARNIVAL NATIONZ REGISTRATION BEGINS

Hi 'masquerader X',

First off we'd like start by acknowledging that here have been a few hiccups over the past couple of days. We at Carnival Nationz always try our best to provide you with the Ultimate Toronto Carnival Experience and in order for us to do that, we need to ensure that if we see something that could cause a potential disaster in the long run, it is our obligation to fix it.

Having said that, we are happy to announce that ONLINE REGISTRATION has been fixed and is going live from 1pm today! We sincerely apologize for the delay but it was imperative for us to ensure that no issues arose at YOUR end - our loyal masqueraders.

In addition to online registration we are also opening registration for our CNz Loyalty Masqueraders today from 6pm - 10pm at The Sound Academy.

If you are coming down to the mas camp to register, then we have bumped up the registration system capacity in an attempt to avoid any interruptions like the ones we encountered last year during pick-up.  We are aware that everyone’s time is precious and will try our best to ensure that registration is as fast and painless as possible.


3. Look out as well in 2012 for our Lil’ Nationz Kiddies band launch, new road format, mas camp location, etc…

Most of all… study then pick and choose your top 3 sections… organize your registration methodology (online vs mas camp)… then come join the CNz Empire for 2012…

CANADIAN COSTUMES HEAT UP

I didn't have the pleasure of going to the band launch of Carnival Nationz (Toronto) this weekend but was sent some pictures and I must say that the costumes are looking a lot like Trinidad mas and the costumes (from what I saw) are nice.  VERY familiar but nice. There are some decent pictures of the costumes on any of the 3 Albums on Collabo's Facebook Page (which is where I got this one from). If you're planning on playing mas for Caribana, the little birdies keep chirping about Carnival Nationz being not only a damn good band but the only real competition out there for Saldenah. Let us see!
